I am a Black Puerto Rican organizer, educator, independent journalist, Associate producer and a historical consultant of the two time Oscar winning Judas and the Black Messiah, produced by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, directo Shaka King and Charles King. I was also the first Afro-Latina woman to run for Vice President of the United States -Green Party, 2008.

WHAT we will COVER
This seminar will explore the historical, cultural, and political forces shaping Black-Puerto Rican resistance movements across the Puerto Rican Diaspora. To be effective organizers and activists we need tools. We need language. We need historical knowledge. This seminar is for educators, organizers, students, artists; anyone committed to justice and liberation.For five weeks, we gather. We learn. We remember what they tried to make us forget. This isn’t just a seminar this is a reclamation. Together, we will dig into the fierce, untold histories of Black Puerto Rican resistance: the organizers, the freedom fighters, the radicals who refused to be erased. Their struggles did not just shape Puerto Rico—they ignited liberation movements across borders and generations.

• Those building movements at the intersections of decolonization, abolition, feminism, and climate change. This is a living framework—rooted in Black radical
pedagogy—designed to be adapted, expanded, and made local. Each week combines:
• Intellectual foundations and key thinkers
• Cultural and artistic production as sites of knowledge
• Organizing history and movement genealogies
• Discussion prompts for collective learning
• Praxis activities connecting study to action
